Wrist Blood Pressure Monitor
What is a blood pressure monitor? A blood pressure monitor is a machine that measures the pressure on your arteries caused by your blood flow. Is the result the same if measuring on the arm? The arteries located in your wrist are narrower and not as deep as under the arm, so the readings may be slightly different than those of an arm monitor. How do I get precise readings? Sit still for 5 minutes and relax. Make sure there’s no obstruction between your skin and the blood pressure monitor. Fasten the velcro around your left wrist, and you should only be able to get a single finger underneath the cuff. Finally, rest your arm and wrist at heart level to get precise results. What is the average blood pressure reading? A normal reading would be any blood pressure below 120(systolic)/80(diastolic) mm Hg and above 90/60 mm Hg. What are systolic pressure and diastolic pressure? Systolic blood pressure measures the amount of pressure the blood exerts on arteries and vessels while the heart is beating. Diastolic blood pressure is the pressure that is exerted on the walls of various arteries around the body in between heartbeats while the heart is relaxed. What is the standard blood pressure classification? Blood pressure readings are expressed in millimeters of mercury, which is abbreviated as mm Hg. Why does my blood pressure fluctuate throughout the day? Things such as stress levels, time of day, temperature, OTC medicines, exercise, a full bladder, food choices, caffeine, and a number of other factors can affect your blood pressure numbers. Why do I get a different blood pressure at home compared to the hospital? Sometimes people can get what is called “white-coat hypertension,” which means that their natural levels of stress are increased by being in a stressful environment, such a doctor’s office. What should I avoid before taking a blood pressure reading? Avoid caffeine and alcohol 30 minutes before taking a reading. Take your blood pressure readings before your first cigarette of the day and before any strenuous physical activity. How do I get precise results? Take 2-3 readings to get an average of your results. Does it automatically reset once the memory is full? No. You have to manually reset the memory storage. Press and hold M1 or M2 for at least 5 seconds or until “CLR” shows on the monitor. USB-Charging Wrist Blood Pressure Monitor What are the key features of the blood pressure monitor? The blood pressure monitor can store the systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure, pulse rate, and historic record of up to 60 measurements. Wrist Blood Pressure Monitor - Platinum Series Does it work with a battery? Yes. The Wrist Blood Pressure Monitor Platinum Series comes with 2 AAA batteries. Please note that the batteries must be removed if the device is not likely to be used for some time. The old batteries are harmful to the environement, do not dispose of with other daily trash. You must follow local recycling guidelines in disposing of the battery. How do I recall the records? When the monitor is off, press the "MEM" button to show the latest measurement record. Then press it again or the button "SET" to get the record you want. The most recent record (1) is shown first. Each new measurement is assigned to the first (1) record. All other records are pushed back one digit (e.g. 2 becomes 3, and so on), and the last record (60) is dropped from the list. What do I need to pay attention to when I measure my blood pressure at home? Make sure the cuff is tied properly on the wrist and it should neither be too tight nor too loose. If you feel anxious, take 2-3 deep breaths before measuring. Relax for 4-5 minutes until you calm down for a more accurate blood pressure reading. Do you have indications or precautions for use? Yes. The Blood Pressure Monitor is a digital monitor intended for use in measuring blood pressure level and heartbeat rate with a wrist circumference ranging from 13.5cm to 21.5 cm ( about 5⅓˝-8½˝ ). It is intended for adult indoor use only. Is there a color-coding for elevated blood pressure? Yes. There is a color scale on the outside of the screen. The LCD segment lights up next to the appropriate color. What is the measuring unit? You have a choice of measuring in mmHg or kPa. We suggest using mmHg for easy reading. How do I set up the device? Press the set key on the monitor and hold until the year starts to appear. Then set the numbers. Keep pressing “MEM” to set and switch the year, month, time, hour, and minute accordingly. Then press “SET” to record the numbers and move on. What should I do if my measurement falls outside the average number? Please consult a physician if your measuring result falls outside the normal range. Please note that only a physician can tell whether your blood pressure value has reached a dangerous point. Wrist Blood Pressure Monitor Platinum Series Is this Bluetooth-enabled? No. Our Wrist Blood Pressure Monitor Platinum Series is automatic and works with a battery, not through Bluetooth connectivity. How should I position my arm to get the most accurate measurement? Keep your arm relaxed. Place your arm on a table or the arm of a couch, with your hand spread open, not in a fist. Can I use it for my kid? No. This device is for adult use only. Will it send data to my phone? No. This device is not Bluetooth-enabled. But you can recall the data in the monitor by following the steps in the User Manual. Does it come with a manual? Yes. Our Wrist BP Monitor now comes with a comprehensive user manual and a quick start guide in the package. Is the cuff latex-free? Yes. It is latex-free. How does it clear the data in the memory? Hold the "MEM" button until delete shows and then press set. What is the difference between the classic and platinum series? The platinum series has a backlight for the display. Does this item come with a case? Yes. It comes in a pretty sturdy box. You can keep it right in the box, or keep it on a shelf next to your chair, wherever you can reach easily so you can quickly find it when you take your BP every day. Does it measure the blood pressure when inflating or deflating? A blood pressure monitor inflates to a higher level than your blood pressure. As it comes down a heartbeat comes in and it measures that point for your top level. As it goes down the heartbeat will stop and that is your low level. Then it shows both levels and your heart rate on the screen. That's how they used to do it with stethoscopes.
